The Cascade Civil War Society is buying a fully functioning, authentic reproduction of a Civil War cannon.

The Cascade Civil War Society spokesman declared today to Kacey Montoya that the society intends to buy a fully functioning,authentic reproduction of a Civil War Cannon.

The Cascade Civil War Society landed a $14,000 grant from the National Rifle Association Foundation and it seems that its efforts to buy a Civil War artillery piece will be succesfull.Since two years ago,officials of this society declared that the next goal of the society is to buy an artillery piece dating from the Civil War.

Kacey Montoya says that the nonprofit society was established and based in Klamath Falls.In the present,the society conducts various school programs in which the childrens are tought more about the Civil War battler and the Western frontier expansion after 1865.

Please Help A Needy Clark County Schoolkid

An annual program to help needy Southwest Washington children get back-to-school clothing is having problems with cash this year.

Usual, the "Child Spree" program allows those children to buy in one of several Vancouver-area stores for up to $100 of clothing, close that they otherwise couldn't afford. Also in the past, a donor annually contributed 6,000 to the effort.

This year that donation didn't happen, so the call went out for help.This Monday afternoon, Target stores did announce a donation, but a lot more is needed. The Clark County operation is run out of the Vancouver office of the Division of Children and Family Services. More…
